About – Use of Funds
At this time we are driving for critical donations and exposure of her story that will help save Anica’s life.
Anica began working with an eczema specialist in November 2024, and brain treatments and therapy started in January 2025. With her doctor’s expertise and the success of the Chronic Eczema Recovery Program, we believe that within 5–6 months, Anica could make significant progress—potentially no longer needing a caregiver and gradually resuming more normal function with reduced reliance on treatments. Based on this timeline, we have structured our budget estimate and fundraising goal accordingly.
How the Funds Will Be Used:
Brain Treatments & Intensive Therapy (Not Covered by Insurance)
These treatments are essential to restoring her brain function and stabilizing her nervous system. She is projected to need six months of treatment, with five Cereset Brain Therapy sessions per month, totaling $1,500/month. Additionally, psychiatric care not covered by insurance costs $980/month. Other medications and therapeutic support will be covered by Medi-Cal.
Caregiving
Anica requires daily assistance with basic tasks, including washing her hair, accessing food, managing medications and supplements, caring for her skin, and navigating psychiatric and panic disorders. Caregivers cost an average of $36/hour, totaling approximately $5,760–$7,200/month. We have applied for IHSS and Social Security Disability to offset this cost, but we are currently appealing a denial and facing a long approval process. Even if approved, these programs will not fully cover her needs.
A lapse in caregiving support would not only set back her progress but could be life-threatening. While we fight for the approval of assistance programs, we urgently need to ensure continuous care.
Supplies, Medications & Supplements (Not Covered by Insurance)
Estimated at $900–$1,500/month, this includes essential items like large supplies of hydrogen peroxide, peptide treatments ($300/month), gut restoration supplements, and topical treatments such to aid skin repair and fight infection.
Given that healing is not linear and requires flexibility, we have set our fundraising goal at $10,000 per month for eight months, totaling $80,000.
What’s Already Covered:
Food, specific doctor visits, rent, utilities, transportation, and some medical expenses are currently supported by family, her boyfriend, Medi-Cal, her church, and government programs.
